Bespoke · furniture and joinery

Bespoke furniture, shaped around your rooms — and around your habits

From the kitchen to the dressing room: furniture and joinery made to measure for one place, in one house. Designed, drawn and made under one roof.

Bespoke begins with the room, not with the furniture. We design and make what a room genuinely needs — a kitchen, a dressing room, a library with a desk, a wall in the bedroom, or a dining table that simply is not sold in the right size, colour or finish. Usually in a private house; sometimes in an office or a hotel, where a line of their own is wanted.

Why bespoke

The brief is specific

How you cook, how you order your clothes, where the bins have to stand — these are questions of use, not of taste. A standard dimension rarely answers them well.

Consistency between rooms

One detail, one material, one line running through — from the kitchen to the wardrobe in the bedroom. Once that consistency matters, bespoke becomes almost inevitable.

The standard of the house

Where the floor, the ceiling finish and the lighting are of a high order, the furniture is held to the same standard. Bespoke is then not the extravagant choice, but the logical one.

N° 02

The light is part of the furniture

A bought cabinet arrives in boxes, and there is no light in it. All of the light then has to come from the ceiling or from the wall.

Because we draw the furniture ourselves, we draw the light with it: a line beneath a plinth, a strip within a shelf, concealed light behind glass in a display cabinet, a spot above the kitchen island. In the same drawing — so in the same dimensions, on the same circuit.

It is seldom the first thing you notice, and almost always what finishes a room.

How we work

  • Measuring up and taking stock

The room exactly. And alongside it the brief: what has to go in, how much of it, and how you use it.

  • Setting out the planes

First the large blocks on paper — zones, lines of movement, room to turn and to pass. The styling comes afterwards; the layout comes first.

  • Two or three variants

Of the same room, so that a choice is genuinely a choice.

  • Visualisation

You see the design before it exists. More on that under 3D design.

  • Lighting and services

Taken into the same drawing straight away: how the light is switched, where the extraction sits, and what that does to the cabinetry.

  • Details, working drawings, making

Drawers and interiors, materials and finish. Then it is made.

What bespoke costs

Bespoke is designed once, drawn once and made once — those hours sit in this one piece and nowhere else. Against that, a branded kitchen is made in series, with a factory, showrooms and a sales operation that are all paid for as well: at comparable quality, bespoke is certainly not more expensive by definition.

We give an indication once we have seen the room — anything earlier would be guesswork.

Introduction

Talk it through with us

Any bespoke plan starts with looking: the room, the measurements, and what you want to be able to do there. That first conversation carries no obligation — and it is usually the moment half the questions fall away.
